Kyrgyzstan is a country of vast horizons, rugged mountain ranges, and a culture deeply rooted in its nomadic heritage. Travelling across the country, I was struck not only by the scale of its landscapes but by the strong connection between people, tradition, and place.

From remote valleys and high-altitude pastures to small villages scattered across the mountains, daily life remains closely tied to the land. Horses, yurts, and seasonal migrations are not symbols of a distant past but living elements of a culture that continues to shape modern Kyrgyz identity.

Throughout this journey, I sought to capture the relationship between these immense landscapes and the people who call them home. As an outsider travelling through the country, I was repeatedly met with a warmth and hospitality that revealed a profound sense of pride in Kyrgyzstan's history, culture, and landscape.

Rather than portraying Kyrgyzstan as a destination, Crossing Kyrgyzstan is a visual reflection on a nation whose identity has been shaped by movement, resilience, and an enduring connection to the mountains.
